Romance
The moon disguising itself as the sun met the most romantic evening the beach had ever delightfully encountered. The ocean came alive as the streetlights of love reflected down from the fiery moon onto the water’s belly. I was confused by the dichotomy of my lady’s wonder. The night’s presence was so indelibly quiet, yet the roar of the ocean’s tide reminded me of her temperament. A small colony of rocks as if abandoned by their mother lay in the center of nowhere. They quietly faded in and out of view as the waves covered them from time to time with their tears. The bright stars seemed so very far away, and their loneliness begged for romance. So they dimmed their lights, and she was no longer afraid to come out. Romance, indeed, could now be seen singing by the water’s edge, riding the waves of the west wind, seducing the moon until he surrendered, and touching the ocean with a kiss; but it was not the ocean whom she really loved but the other guy who was not as handsome, but whose shine was so very bright. This romance could not be pardoned as she could be seen making love so innocently to the naked sky and asking the clouds for some privacy. Romance carried on by secretly courting the distant stars and showing them a love that eternity said was long overdue. The sand that slept on the beach watched this entire story unfold with jealous ambitions. Romance, however, had not forgotten their concerns for as she dried off on the sand their dreams were finally, finally fulfilled.

"Wonders" by Kevin Hollingsworth - Reader Review
By Gina Reba
Have you ever struggled to find the right words to say to that special someone? I don't just mean your "better half" either. I mean the words that convey just how heart felt your feelings for them truly are whether they be your best buddy, relative or anyone in between. As forward thinking as we've become, the right words do manage to escape us from time to time. It is that very driving force of reaching for tomorrow that should have us slowing down and appreciating the people and things that we hold dear. Author Kevin Hollingsworth aims to provide us with a gentle reminder of these very ideals in his recent publication.
'Wonders' is a work of literary prose straight from the heart. While the passages are clearly intended for a special person in the authors life, they are not so personalized that their meaning becomes unusable for others. The beauty of nature, the warmth of a smile, the helping hand that we represent to others; these are all themes present within this title. Is it any "wonder" that we take these things for granted? Author Kevin Hollingsworth gives readers the chance to reflect inward in the hopes of bringing out the loving nature within us all.
One of my favorite passages has to be the one entitled, "Red Rose".
"The beauty of a red rose can not be challenged.
Do you agree?
You remind me of the essence of what a red rose is."
Despite being one of the shortest entries in this collection, I found it beautiful and complete in its simplicity. A red rose is something that most can agree on as being a natural wonder of beauty. To state that someone reminds you of its essence is indeed a complement of the highest form. You are declaring your amazement of that individual and saying to them that there is no other to which they can compare.
From the words of beauty on the inside to the enchanting cover by which they are bound, 'Wonders' is one book that is sure to touch your heart. Recommended reading for poetry lovers as well as anyone looking for a reminder of the true beauty that resides in the everyday occurrence, this title will leave you with a refreshed look at the love that surrounds you.
